Oppo’s new A3x can resist coffee, soup spills, costs Rs 8,999

Oppo has launched the A3x smartphone in India. This new Oppo A3x is a 4G phone, so it might not attract consumers looking for fast internet speeds, but its military-grade durability certification offers reassurance. The company says the phone can endure accidental drops and resist harsh weather conditions. Additionally, this smartphone features an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, providing users with comprehensive protection.

The A3x comes in two versions. The one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage costs Rs 8,999, while the model with 128GB of internal memory is priced at Rs 9,999. Customers can buy the smartphone in Nebula Red and Ocean Blue colours from Amazon and Oppo’s online store.

Durability and water resistance are Oppo A3x’s key selling points. As mentioned, it has MIL-STD-810H military-grade shock resistance, alongside “multiple liquid resistance,” which the company claims allows the phone to endure coffee and soup, in addition to water.

The rest of the smartphone’s specifications are fairly basic. Featuring support for dual 4G SIM cards, the Oppo A3x has a 6.67-inch HD+ (720x1604-pixel resolution) LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone uses an 8MP camera on the back and a 5MP selfie camera. Keeping the lights on is a 5100mAh battery with support for 45W fast wired charging. Oppo claims the battery can go from 0 to 50 per cent in 30 minutes when charged using the bundled charger. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The standard connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
