Uber Black in India: Cab aggregator service, Uber, has relaunched its Uber Black premium cab service in India. The company said that Uber Black cab service offers business class back seats along with access to customisable features to the riders.
For the unversed, Uber arrived in India back in 2013 with premium cars such as BMW and Audi. Shortly after, it replaced these cars with the likes of Toyota Innova and Toyota Corolla. Then in 2016, the company halted its premium cab services in India owing to a lower demand. Now, nearly eight years after halting Uber Black, the company is relaunching the service in India. However, the service will be available to commuters in Mumbai only.
Uber Black: Top features and services
As mentioned before, Uber Black offers a premium riding experience to the commuters. The features offered by the service include access to new and high-end cars, and customisable features such as Quiet Mode, Temperature Control, and Help with Luggage. In addition to that, it offers services such as extended wait times, which gives commuters an additional five-minute pickup window without incurring a waiting fee. Commuters can also opt for cooling to be turned up or down before they start the ride.
As far as charges are concerned, Uber Black rentals are significantly higher than that of the Uber Go service. Similarly, a ride from Andheri East to Marine Drive costs around Rs 550 via Uber Go and Rs 800 via Uber Black. That said, these prices will vary based on the availability of vehicles, demand and time of booking.
