In a recent statement, recently-elected US President Donald Trump reiterated that he could resolve the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine swiftly, with "just one move." Trump, who has often boasted about his negotiation skills and foreign policy track record, shared his views on the war during a public address, go globally.

During a virtual address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Donald Trump voiced his surprise that Saudi Arabia and other OPEC nations had not lowered oil prices prior to his election. He suggested that reduced oil prices could play a crucial role in ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict. 

"I will also be asking Saudi Arabia and OPEC to lower the cost of oil. It must come down, and frankly, I’m surprised they didn’t take this step before the election," Trump stated, 
Trump emphasized how high oil prices are contributing to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He proposed that lowering these prices could bring about a swift resolution to the war. "The current high oil prices are fueling the continuation of this war," the former US President stated. "You need to bring down the cost of oil to put an end to the conflict."

Trump has previously asserted that his negotiation strategies, combined with his rapport with world leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin, could pave the way for a peaceful agreement.
