Odisha Shivers As IMD Predicts Dense Fog In Some Pockets Today - Details

The Regional Indian Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog for Odisha today, 3rd January, 2025. Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Angul, Kandhamal, and, shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal .

Heavy Rains In Isolated Places

IMD had earlier noted that heavy rainfall was recorded at isolated, places over Odisha on 26th December, 2024, and dense fog was observed on December 27. IMD had also issued a warning of dense fog on January 2nd.

IMD Weather Predictions

Minimum temperature forecast and dense fog warning for Week 2 (09 to 15 January, 2025):
 

• Minimum temperatures are likely to be between 4-8°C over many parts of north India (excluding Western Himalayan Region) and above 8°C over the rest parts of the country during the week.
• Minimum temperatures are likely to be near normal or slightly above normal over most parts of northwest & adjoining central India and northeast India. It is likely to below normal by 1-3°C over Peninsular & adjoining east India during the week. 
• There is a low to moderate probability of cold wave conditions at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, adjoining north Rajasthan & Himachal Pradesh during some days of the week. 
• Dense fog is likely to occur in isolated places of Indo-Gangetic plains during some days of the week.
