The man behind the Cybertruck explosions has been identified as Matthew Alan Livelsberger, who is a 37 year-old active-duty US special forces soldier.

"Investigative steps have discovered and information of the Army indicates that he likely suffered from PTSD, and we're also aware that there were potential other family issues or personal grievances in his own life that may have been contributing factors," the FBI official was cited by Reuters.
Who Is Matthew Alan Livelsberger?
Officials identified the person found dead inside the Cybertruck on Thursday as Matthew Alan Livelsberger from Colorado Springs. He had served in the army since 2006 and was deployed to Afghanistan twice.
Livelsberger slowly but steadily rose through the ranks to go on to serve in Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia and Congo, according to the army.
He had reportedly recently returned from an overseas assignment in Germany and was on an approved leave when he died, an Associated Press report said.
He had previously been awarded five Bronze Stars, including one with a valor device for courage under fire, a combat infantry badge and an Army Commendation Medal with valor.
Matthew Alan Livelsberger's Ex-Girlfriend Speaks
Matthew Livelsberger's ex-girlfriend also told the Washington Post that he had once told her he suffered a traumatic brain injury during his overseas deployment. Alicia Arritt, a 39-year-old nurse said that he had also admitted to struggling with memory, concentration and intense guilt over his actions on the battlefield.
It is a "tragic case of suicide" according to the Las Vegas Police.
How Did Livelsberger Bring The Act To Fruition?
Livelsberger has rented a Tesla Cybertruck from a mobile application called Turo in Colorado on December 28, according to media reports and had driven it more than 800 miles to Las Vegas. He had also purchased two firearms around that time, which were found inside the car.
