Following a number of delays, Bengaluru's much awaited Yellow Line—which links to Electronics City, a hotspot for big businesses like Infosys and Biocon—is about to make a big advancement. On January 6, 2025, the Yellow Line's first train will be sent to Bengaluru.
The Bengaluru South Member of Parliament, Tejasvi Surya, declared on X writing;
"The first train will be sent to Bengaluru on January 6. Titagarh Rail Systems, the manufacturer, has committed to delivering the second train by the end of January or early February, with the third train expected by April. Following this, they plan to deliver one train per month, gradually increasing to two per month by September,"

"I will be present at the event in Kolkata to ensure that the process moves forward swiftly," he added.
Namma Metro Yellow Line: Cause Of Delay
Surya informed that the lack of trains has been the main cause of the Yellow Line project's considerable delays.
"The repeated delays in the launch of the Yellow Line have been frustrating for all involved. Over the past months, I've been in regular contact with Titagarh Rail Systems to speed up production. We’ve worked through many challenges, such as securing visas for engineers. Titagarh has even set up a dedicated line to manufacture trains for the Bengaluru Metro," he quoted on X.
Namma Metro Yellow Line: Officials In Charge
To avoid any more delays, the Bengaluru South MP also urged the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to move quickly to obtain the required safety approvals from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).
"I'm as frustrated as everyone else with the setbacks, but rest assured, the Yellow Line will be operational soon. I’m committed to ensuring this project gets off the ground," Surya said.
According to BMRCL authorities, three trains per 30 minutes will be used for the Yellow Line's first operations. Eventually, the frequency will increase as more trains are supplied.
