Apple will repair iPhone 14 Plus camera issue for free: How to check eligibility

iPhone 14 Plus camera issues: Apple has announced a special Service Program for its two-year-old iPhone 14 Plus model. As a part of this repair program, the company will repair the iPhone 14 Plus units facing issues with the rear camera module for free.

Apple, in an update on its support page, wrote that the rear camera module on a 'very small percentage' of the iPhone 14 Plus units may face an issue wherein the rear camera does not show a preview. Apple says that this camera issue affects the iPhone 14 Plus units that were manufactured between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024.

“Apple has determined that the rear camera on a very small percentage of iPhone 14 Plus devices may exhibit no preview. Affected devices were manufactured between April 10, 2023 to April 28, 2024,” the company wrote in an update on its support page.

The iPhone 14 Plus users can head over to Apple's support site and enter the serial number of their device to check if it is affected by the camera issue and is eligible for a free repair by the company. The company says that its service program will cover an affected iPhone 14 Plus unit for three years after it was first purchased. For understanding, if a user purchased an iPhone 14 Plus model manufactured between the mentioned dates in January 2024, they will have until January 2027 to get the unit repaired for free as a part of this program.

Furthermore, the company has said that users who have already paid to get the issue repaired can contact the company for a refund.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on the iPhone 14 Plus.

Step 2: Tap the General option.

Step 3: Tap the About option.

Step 4: The serial number of the iPhone 14 Plus unit will be displayed under the Model Number section.
