Elon Musk launches X TV app for smart TVs: Top features, availability, more

X owner Elon Musk today announced a new way his company plans to bring X (formerly Twitter) to users. The SpaceX founder today announced the X TV app for smart TVs. It is worth noting that Musk had first announced the X TV app in March this year. Six months later, the app has been formally launched for users across the globe.

But there's a catch. At the moment, the app is available in beta mode only. This means that not all X users will be able to access the app on their smart TVs.

What does the X TV app do?

X's newly launched X TV app aims to give users access to videos available on X on their smart TVs. "Paired with our upcoming Video Tab, this marks a massive leap forward in transforming X into a video-first platform and unlocking new opportunities for creators, advertisers, and our partners," X wrote in a post on its platform.

Who can access the X TV app?

As mentioned before, not all smart TV users can access the X TV app yet. At the moment, the app is available to Android TV, Google TV, and Amazon's Fire TV. In addition to this, users of LG smart TVs can also access this app.

What the top features of the X TV app?

As far as the features are concerned, the X TV app will enable X fans to watch videos including on the topics such as news, sports, and music on its platform. Users will also be able to watch movies and get weather updates using the X TV app.

In addition to this, the X TV app will let users store up to 72 hours of shows and movies in the cloud, which they can watch at a later time. Additionally, it has a Startover TV feature that will enable users to watch videos from the beginning even after they have started watching it. Lastly, the X TV app will also enable users to store up to 100 hours of video recordings on cloud for free.
