New Delhi to Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper: Check Launch Month, Ticket Price, Route And Timings

The Indian Railways is set to launch a new version of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. This is going to be the third version of these trains.

It is expected to connect Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir to New Delhi, the national capital. The expected time of launch is January 2025.

What Are The New Vande Bharat Sleeper Train's Features?

The Vande Bharat trains are high speed trains designed to cover long distances over a short period of time. Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister of the Indian Railways had unveiled the prototype in September 2024 and the trains will be manufactured by BEML.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train from Delhi to Srinagar includes advanced heating systems so as to make the train better-suited for the weather conditions of Jammu & Kashmir. It can handle sub-zero temperatures, ensuring smooth operations in colder regions. It has integrated heating elements for the driver's front window and specialized heating for plumbing and to prevent freezing of water tanks. The train also features enhanced safety systems.

What Is The Duration Of Travel?

Once the Srinagar railway line is operational, the travel time to Kashmir will get significantly reduced from 20 hours to just 13 hours. This train will offer a quicker and more affordable way for passengers to reach Kashmir.

Schedule

The Vande Bharat train operating from Delhi to Srinagar will leave New Delhi at 7:00 pm to reach Srinagar at 8:00 am the next morning.

It will stop at various stations including Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Kathua, Jammu Tawi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Sangaldan, and Banihal.

This train will cover a distance of approximately 800 km in less than 13 hours, using the USBRL or Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project, which is undergoing some finishing touches.

Ticket Prices for Vande Bharat Sleeper Train From Delhi To Srinagar

This train has three ticket options:

* The AC First Class (1A) tickets are priced at around Rs 3,000.
* The AC 2 Tier (2A) tickets are priced at around Rs 2,500.
* The AC 3 Tier (3A) tickets are priced at around Rs 2,000.
