Medhansh Trivedi - Gwalior's Class 12th Student Develops Human-Carrying Drone

Medhansh Trivedi is a Class 12 student at Scindia School in Gwalior and he has developed a human-carrying drone.

He has developed this human-carrying drone in a span of approximately three months and at a price of Rs 3.5 lakhs.

The inspiration behind this drone came from the drone technology of the neigbouring country China.

The drone is called "MLDT 01" and it can transport a person weighing up to 80 kilograms and a fly at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

Besides motivating him, his teacher Manoj Mishra has also helped him get the technicalities of his drone right.

Medhansh dreams of opening an air-taxi company. He also wants to make cheaper helicopters available to people.

He said that though there have been several difficulties while making thiss drone, but he has been able to get through everything with due help from his teacher as well as his family members.

The MLDT 01 drone, features a length and width of 1.8 meters, is powered by four motors typically used in agricultural drones. The drone has a 45-horsepower capacity and it can fly continuously for six minutes.

Seeing his capability, the school patron and Ministter of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia as well as the ISRO CEO S Somanath acknowledged his extraordinary skills and congratulated him for his achievements.

The drone can also be flown for about 4km without sitting in it, adding that he plans to launch the drone in hybrid mode as soon as he receives funding.

Medhansh wants to develop drones for the ease of access of things and commodities and wishes to create drones to make delivering things easy and he also wishes to make agricultural processes easy through his innovations.
