Axis has released a report wherein they spoke about the stocks of JSW energy. The report has highlighted the stocks in the ‘buy’ category, and specified the price as well as the resale value of the stock.
JSW Energy: Growth Prediction
JSWE operates across the entire value chain of the power sector, with diversified assets spanning 11 states. The company engages in power generation, transmission, and emerging segments, including energy storage systems (ESS) and Green Hydrogen, positioning itself as a key player in the transition to sustainable energy solutions.
JSWE aims to grow its power generation capacity, mainly in renewable energy from 7.7 GW to 20 GW by 2030. The company is also expanding its energy storage capacity, aiming for 40 GWh/5 GW by 2030. Out of its current installed capacity of 7.7 GW, about 55 per cent is renewable.
Going forward, the majority of the company’s expansion is expected to be from renewable energy with about 96 per cent of under-construction capacity and 100% of pipeline capacity being renewable capacity
Recently, JSWE acquired several , including O2 Power's 4.7 GW renewable energy portfolio, helping it reach a total of 24.7 GW of locked-in capacity. About 86% of its current projects are secured under long-term contracts, ensuring steady cash flows.
JSW Energy has long-term contracts for 86 per cent of its projects. Most of its new projects and recent acquisitions are also covered by such contracts, providing reliable cash flow.
“The company is set to benefit from the growing energy storage space. It has a locked-in capacity of 16.2 GWh of which 1.8 GWh is for battery energy storage systems.”
JSW Energy: Axis Recommends
In a report, Axis said, “We initiate coverage on the company with a BUY rating on the stock and arrive at our Mar’26 target price of Rs 800/share. We value the generation business at 15x FY27 EV/EBITDA and the energy storage business at 1x P/BV of the target equity investment. We further adjust the TP for JSWE’s 2.9 per cent stake in JSW Steel Ltd. The TP implies an upside potential of 26 per cent from the CMP.”
Axis wants to recommend buying the stock at Rs 800, and it is predicted that the stocks will grow by 26 per cent.
JSWE operates through three business segments – power generation, power transmission, and power trading. The Majority of revenue (~87 per cent) in FY24 was from sales of own power generation with the remaining from transmission,
power trading, and other sales and services.
