Triumph Daytona 660 launched at Rs 9.72 lakh in India, replaces Daytona 675

Daytona 675 successor: Triumph has launched the Daytona 660 at Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, which is a new middleweight sports bike for 2024 by Triumph. The Daytona 660 is equipped with an inline-three cylinder engine, having great low-end torque and high revving engine. Earlier, Triumph used to offer Daytona 675, but due to stricter emission norms shut its production. The Daytona 660 aims to offer a comfortable and sporty characteristic, both for city and highway touring. The Triumph Daytona 660 is offered in three colour options.

Steve Sargent, Triumph’s Chief Product Officer, said “The Daytona 660 has all the attitude and agility you’d expect from the Daytona name and brings with it the thrilling, usable, real-world performance and all-day comfort that riders today are looking for.”

Design:

The Triumph Daytona 660 features a lightweight sports frame. The face of the Daytona 660 has a bold appearance, with Showa 41mm upside-down, big-piston front forks. It features an LED headlamp setup and indicators and the design has become sharper as compared to previous generations. The rear has a preload adjustment for easy set-up changes of the suspension.

The Daytona 660 is offered with five-spoke cast aluminium wheels, twin four-piston radial calipers which are paired with lightweight 310mm discs, and a Continental ABS modulator, which provides strong braking power.

Competition:

The Triumph Daytona 660 competes with Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Aprillia RS660 in its segment. 

Features:

The Triumph Daytona 660 is equipped with multiple features. The technology integrated into the Daytona 660 improves both safety and the riding experience. The Daytona 660 comes with a ride-by-wire throttle system that allows for three different riding modes, Sport, Road, and Rain. Each riding mode adjusts throttle response and traction control. The Sport mode offered on the Daytona has the most reactive performance for road or track use. Riders can turn off the traction control of the Daytona 660 via the instrument menu if they prefer.

Engine specifications:

The Triumph Daytona 660 is offered with a 660cc inline three-cylinder engine, that produces 95 BHP and 69 Nm torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Daytona 660 is equipped with a wet-multi-plate clutch which offers slipper and assist function. The engine is tuned for low-end grunt and power, delivering 80 per cent of power at a low 3,150 RPM.
