August 2024 witnessed a growth in sales of vehicles. The major sales were driven by SUVs for the auto manufacturers. Maruti Suzuki Brezza recorded first place.

Car sales in August 2024: Car sales in August 2024 witnessed a change in positions and total sales recorded by manufacturers. As per the data from SIAM, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza secured the top position, trailed by Ertiga and Hyundai Creta. The automotive industry saw significant growth in August 2024. Earlier, Tata Punch secured the first position in the sales chart, but now Brezza took the first place by recording total sales of 19,190 units. The major sales were driven by the SUVs for the auto manufacturer. Look at the top three cars with the highest sales in August 2024.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza:
Maruti Suzuki Brezza is a sub-4m compact SUV, that secured the first position in August 2024. Brezza recorded total sales of 19,190 units. This has resulted in an overall growth of 31.69 per cent on a year-on-year basis, having a growth of 4,618 units. As compared to the previous month, Brezza recorded a surge of 4,514 units, recording a growth of 23.52 per cent on a month-on-month basis. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza has a starting price of Rs 8.34 lakh (ex-showroom) for the LXI base variant.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga:
The next on the list is the MPV from Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, registering 18,580 units in August 2024. The Ertiga secured the second position and witnessed a massive growth of 50.87 per cent on a year-on-year basis. As compared to the previous month, it had a growth of 2,879 units, registering a 15.49 per cent growth on a month-on-month basis. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has a starting price of Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the LXI base variant.
Hyundai Creta:
The third position on the list is secured by Hyundai Creta. It is a compact SUV, that offers multiple features and powertrain options. In August, Creta recorded total sales of 16,762 units, registering a growth of 21.18 per cent on a year-on-year basis. As compared to July 2024, the manufacturer recorded a decline of 588 units, registering a marginal decline of 3.5 per cent on a month-on-month basis. The Hyundai Creta has a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the E 1.5 petrol base variant.
