Tata Motors updates the claimed drive range of its EVs, Curvv EV, Nexon EV, Punch EV, Tiago EV
With an update in the MIDC standards by MoRTH, Tata Motors has updated the claimed ranges of its electric lineup and shared the real-world range, C75 figures.

Updated range of Tata EVs: Tata Motors has updated the MIDC range of its electric lineup in India. This comes into effect after the Ministry of Road and Transport Highways introduced some changes in the range test of electric vehicles. Apart from Tata Motors, other EV manufacturers are also expected to announce similar changes in the claimed ranges of their electric vehicles in the coming days.
Earlier, the auto manufacturers announced the range of their vehicles solely on the Urban, city driving conditions. As per the new rules of the MoRTH, the MIDC range will now include both Urban and extra-urban highway driving components. As a result of these changes, Tata Motors has revised the range of its electric vehicle lineup and shared the real-life range figures as the C75 range, which were tested to accommodate higher speeds, AC usage, higher loads, and greater temperature variations.
Tata Curvv.EV range:
Starting from Tata Curvv.EV, the claimed range provided by the 55 kWh battery pack was 585 km. With the new MIDC standards, the new range of the Tata Curvv.EV comes down to 502 km and has a C75 range of 400-425 km (estimated). The Curvv.EV’s 45 kWh battery pack had a claimed range of 502 km and with the new standards, the range dropped to 430 km, and the C75 range of the 45 kWh battery pack reduced to an estimated range of 330-350 km.
Tata Nexon.EV range:
Similarly, the sub-4m compact EV SUV, Nexon’s range was also reduced with the new standards. Nexon is offered in two battery packs, 40.5 kWh and 30 kWh battery pack. The 40.5 kWh battery pack range was reduced to 390 km and the C75 range is now 290-310 km. For the 30 kWh battery pack, earlier the claimed range was 325 km has been reduced to 275 km and the C75 range of the Nexon 30 kWh battery pack is 210-230 km.
Tata Punch.EV range:
The Punch EV is also offered with two battery packs, a 35 and a 25 kWh battery pack. The 35 kWh battery pack has a claimed range of 421 km, but it is reduced to 365 km with the new MIDC standards. The C75 range of the Punch.EV 35 kWh battery pack 270-290 km. The 25 kWh battery pack had a claimed range of 315 km, but the MIDC changes resulted in a drop to 265 km range. The C75 range of the Punch EV 25 kWh battery pack is 190-210 km.
Tata Tiago.EV range:
Tata Tiago EV is the most affordable EV in the Tata Motors EV lineup. Tiago is offered with a 24 kWh battery pack and a 19.2 kWh battery pack having claimed ranges of 315 and 250 km respectively. With the changes in the MIDC standards, the range dropped to 275 and 221 km respectively. The C75 range of the Tiago EV is 190-210 km for the 24 kWh battery pack and 150-160 km for the 19.2 kWh battery pack.
