Bharat Mobility 2025: Maruti e Vitara, Tata Sierra EV, Hyundai Creta EV -Full List Of Launches
The shift towards sustainable mobility is evident, with numerous carmakers set to debut electric models:

The upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which is scheduled from 17th to 22th January, will witness the highest number of Battery Electric Vehicle (EV) rollouts. With the government's push towards greener vehicles getting bigger, leading carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki , Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors, JSW MG Motor India, etc., will be showcasing their battery-driven models at the upcoming auto exhibition.
Maruti, Hyundai, etc gears up with their EV launches
Passenger Vehicle (PV) market leader Maruti Suzuki, is all set to launch its first EV offering -e Vitara- at the show. Based on the eVX electric concept, it is expected to be priced above Rs 10 lakh. Speculation is pertty rife that the e-car will feature two battery pack options: a 49 kWh for entry-level trims and a 61 kWh for higher variants, potentially offering an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
Speaking on the announcement, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The e Vitara is a testament of our unwavering commitment to sustainable mobility and technological innovation. With decades of automotive expertise, we have combined advanced electric technology with a customer-first approach to deliver something truly transformative. He further added, “Our goal is to make EVs accessible, convenient, and appealing to a broader set of customers, and this is exactly what we have set out to achieve with the e Vitara.”
India’s second-largest carmaker, Hyundai Motor India Limited, is gearing up for the launch of the electric variant of Creta Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV). The e-SUV will be offered with two battery pack options — a 42 kWh with a claimed range of 390 km per charge and a 51.4 kWh which delivers 473 km per charge. The model is expected to be showcased alongside other EVs like the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9, marking their India debut at the expo.
“The Hyundai Creta Electric marks a significant milestone for HMIL as our first localized electric SUV. With the addition of this electric powertrain, we now have a Creta for everyone. We are confident that this model will set a new standard in quality for electric SUVs in India and will redefine the success of EVs in the country,”stated Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL.
Tata Motors, which currently leads the domestic electric Passenger Vehicle (PV) market, is also planning a series of BEV offerings such as Altroz EV, Tata Harrier EV and Tata Sierra EV, as revealed by sources. There is also a lot of buzz that the production version of Tata Avinya concept will be showcased. An emailed query sent to Tata Motors spokesperson remained unanswered till the time the story was published.
Another homegrown carmaker Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) is also considering showcasing its series of EVs such as BE09, BE.05, BE 6, BE Rall-E, XUV.e8 and XUV.e9. The company, however, did not make any official announcements on its product displays at the Expo.
Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast Auto Limited, which will be participating for the first time at the Expo, will be displaying VF6, VF7, VF8, and VF9 at the show. BYD, the only Chinese carmaker to participate at the event, is speculated to unveil its least priced model Seagull. The spokespeople of both the companies confirmed participation at the Expo without sharing any specifics.
JSW MG Motor India, which has already launched a couple of EVs in the mass market space, set to introduce the Cyberster, a luxury electric roadster, as part of its new premium lineup under the 'MG Select' brand. The Cyberster is expected to launch in January 2025, priced at approximately Rs 99.90 lakh.
Kia India will launch the recently unveiled Syros subcompact SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is expected to showcase its next-generation Fortuner SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
Luxury carmakers also up the ante
In the luxury car space, Mercedes -Benz will be launching the G-580, which is the electric variant of the G-Wagon super-premium SUV. The luxury e-SUV will be equipped with a 116 kWh battery pack and four motors, producing 587 PS and 1,164 Nm of torque. There is also a lot of buzz that Porsche will present the Macan BEV, featuring a 95 kWh battery pack with a WLTP claimed range of 590 km per charge.
