OnePlus 13 launch date is out. The company revealed that it will introduce its next flagship smartphone later this month. In a post on Weibo—China’s equivalent to Facebook—the company showcased the complete design of the upcoming phone, leaving little to the imagination, along with its key specifications that settle any speculation about what the OnePlus 13 will offer. The OnePlus 13 will likely be one of the first premium Android smartphones to launch early while continuing to be available for purchase until the latter half of 2025.
Through a series of official photos, OnePlus said its next flagship is coming up on October 31 at an event in China. Of course, the smartphone will be available exclusively in the company’s home market but will arrive in India and other key countries in early 2025. The company revealed that the OnePlus 13 will retain the Alert Slider – a hardware-enabled functionality that Apple introduced on the iPhone years ago only to replace it with a new Action Button with this year’s iPhone 16 series.
Design-wise, the OnePlus 13 will carry several significant improvements, such as a flat frame and display, a new back panel design that includes the Hasselblad logo at a new spot, and a slimmer body. Its camera module, however, may look more or less the same as the one on the OnePlus 12. OnePlus has showcased the smartphone in three variants: White Dew Dawn, Blue Moment, and Obsidian Secret Realm.
OnePlus also confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will use the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip – set for debut at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2024 scheduled to take place from October 21 to October 23. The smartphone will support wireless magnetic charging, similar to Apple ’s MagSafe technology. The company also confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will use BOE’s second-generation Oriental Display, which uses a quad-curved design based on low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology for an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
While the company has not specified, the OnePlus 13’s cameras will include a 50MP Sony LYT 808 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP Sony LYT 600 ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP Sony LYT 600 telephoto sensor. It may also pack a 6000mAh battery using the company’s Glacier Battery technology that was announced earlier this year. OnePlus will also likely ship its latest Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 starting with the OnePlus 13.
