Vasundhara Oswal, the 26-year-old daughter of Indian-origin billionaire Pankaj Oswal, has been detained in Uganda for over three weeks now under controversial and what her family claims are fabricated charges. Her latest Instagram post sheds light on her harrowing experience and the challenges she and her family are facing in their fight for her release.

Vasundhara writes in her emotional Instagram post, “If anyone has slight experience in the business world, they will be able to make out these charges are BS and fabricated. First a false charge of ‘attempt to murder’ was put on me and then they found the guy alive in another country after throwing me in jail.”

Vasundhara’s recent Instagram post highlights the severity of the situation: “I am shocked to learn that Uganda is indeed a mafia state and doing business here is not for the faint heart.” The family is now rethinking its future business plans in Uganda, concerned that the political and business landscape is hostile and unsafe.

Vasundhara Oswal’s Detention: A False Charge of Attempted Murder?

On October 1, 2024, Vasundhara was arrested in Uganda, where she had been working on her family's $100 million investment in the country's first grain-based Extra-Neutral Alcohol (ENA) production facility. Officials claim the arrest was linked to an investigation into a missing person, but Vasundhara’s family insists the charges are baseless. The person allegedly involved in the case is alive and well in Tanzania, further proving that the accusations against her are fabricated.

A Political Plot Against PRO Industries?
Vasundhara’s post also suggests that her detention may be part of a larger scheme involving business competitors, political pressure, and media manipulation. She states, “I’m surprised and actually in a way flattered that these big businessmen felt so anxious and inferior of PRO industries entering that they created this drama to attack me in a bid to exchange my freedom for shares in PRO, which they never got and never will till the time I am alive.”
