Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday, called the White House race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump "very close," adding that the current trend may change once counting shifts from rural to the urban areas. Speaking to ANI, Tharoor said, "Let's see what happens, it looks like a very close election. Come what may."

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and state officials are investigating each threat. 

Former President Donald Trump won the swing state of Georgia on Wednesday, returning its 16 electoral votes to the Republican column. Joe Biden narrowly carried Georgia in 2020, but Republicans have won every other Georgia presidential vote since 1996. Trump tried to overturn his 2020 loss in Georgia, setting off a political and legal struggle that led to his indictment in the state. 

While the state has two Democratic US senators, Trump’s victory proves Georgia still has a Republican bent. Six candidates appeared on Georgia ballots, but votes for Claudia De la Cruz and Cornel West weren’t counted. The Associated Press declared Trump the winner at 12:58 am EST.

Donald Trump won the battleground state of North Carolina on Tuesday, fending off a challenge from Kamala Harris, who was looking to flip the state and expand her pathways to 270 electoral votes.

According to races called by the Associated Press up to 10.08 am (IST), 230 electoral votes had gone to Republican candidate Trump and 205 to Democratic Party's Harris.

Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi won reelection to a US House seat representing California on Wednesday.

Elected to the House in 1987, Pelosi was the first woman to be elected as US House speaker. She has led the House Democrats since 2003. She played a key role in efforts to pressure President Joe Biden to withdraw his candidacy for reelection in 2024. Pelosi represents a district that encompasses most of San Francisco.

She is widely regarded as one of the most effective House speakers in history. The Associated Press declared Pelosi the winner at 12:03 am EST.

Vice President Kamala Harris won Virginia on Tuesday, adding 13 electoral votes to her tally. Harris' victory marks the third time Donald Trump has lost the Old Dominion state.

The Democratic nominee for president has won Virginia in every election since 2008.

The Associated Press declared Harris the winner at 11:42 pm EST.
 

Elon Musk said he would seek to reduce the number of federal agencies if Trump wins the White House and gives the billionaire businessman a role in his administration.

Speaking on Tucker Carlson’s online show from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, Musk said he wanted to help Trump make government more efficient. Musk, a key Trump supporter, is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and the owner of X, formerly Twitter.

“We’ve got a gigantic bureaucracy, we’ve got overregulation,” Musk told Carlson. “We need to let the builders of America build.”
