India’s GDP growth in the second quarter of FY25 stood at 5.4 per cent against 6.7 per cent witnessed in the first quarter of FY25, the data released by National Statistics Office on Friday said.

Will take more than 10 minutes."

"With families getting smaller, the number of households is on the rise in India--visible in the reduction of the average household size. This, in turn, is fuelling consumption of all household consumer durables products," said the ICICI report. The report emphasised that the penetration of consumer durables, such as refrigerators and air conditioners, remains low in India compared to developed countries.

Zomato, one of India's leading food and grocery delivery giant has announced that it will raise Rs 8,500 crore through Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP). Zomato made this announcement via an exchange filing. The Issue of QIP opened on November 25, 2024, and closed on November 28, 2024. In the filing, Zomato said “The Fund Raising Committee of the Board of directors of the Company (the “Committee”) has at its meeting held today i.e. November 29, 2024, approved the issue and allotment.”

BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler division of the German automaker BMW, on Friday said it will hike prices of its entire model range up to 2.5 per cent from January 1, 2025.

The price correction is driven by rising overall input costs and inflation pressures, the company said in a statement.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari said that there will be no government intervention for determining the fair price for a vehicle to be scrapped. The market forces will determine the fair price of the vehicle to be scrapped. "There is no intervention by the Government in determination of fair price of private vehicles to be scrapped. The price of these vehicles is decided by the market forces as per the condition of the vehicle to be scrapped" said Gadkari. The minister also noted that the Reserve Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) units, set up as private entities, are responsible for determining the price based on vehicle condition, PTI reported.
 

Growth of non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in India is expected to remain under pressure in the financial year 2025 due to a slowdown in loan disbursements and regulatory challenges, according to a report by Nomura.
The report highlighted that the strong asset under management (AUM) growth witnessed by NBFCs in FY23 and FY24 has weakened in FY25 so far, and this trend is likely to continue. 
It said "The healthy AUM growth recorded in FY23/24 has come under pressure thus far in FY25F, and should persist due to lower disbursement growth in FY24/ 1H25", ANI reported
