To ensure seamless travel within the national capital and the region surrounding it, the Delhi Metro and NCR Transport Corporation on Monday launched an integrated QR-ticketing system.
This system allows passengers to book tickets for passengers using both the services using their respective mobile applications, RRTS said in a statement.
Passengers can now book Delhi Metro QR code tickets through the RRTS Connect app and Namo Bharat QR code tickets through the DMRC Momentum 2.0 app enabling seamless commute and ticketing systems for passengers.
Shalabh Goel, the MD of NCRTC and Vikas Kumar, MD of DMRC collectively launched the integrated ticketing system.
The two systems complement one another by consolidating both metro and RRTS travel options into one platform, ensuring efficiency.
This integration is expected to reduce unnecessary queues at the stations and also encourage digital transactions, the statement said.
This initiative is also in continuation with NCRTC's earlier Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IRCTC, which will enable passengers to book the Namo Bharat train tickets via the IRCTC platform.
This development is also in line with the PM National Gati Shakti Master Plan, which will foster integrated infrastructure and seamless connectivity between different modes of transport.
The 42-km RRTS corridor linked to the 393-km DMRC metro network, gives commuters a hassle free experience. This development is further going to ease congestion and promote a cleaner and more sustainable travel.
