Musk’s comments about India’s efficient electoral system came a day after the vote counting for Maharashtra and Jharkhand state assembly elections.

Elon Musk praised India’s election process on Saturday while bashing the slow vote counting in many American states. Highlighting India's ability to count nearly 640 million votes during the Lok Sabha Elections, Tesla's CEO compared it to delayed counting in the U.S. Presidential Election, where California's results are still pending 24 days after voting began on November 5.

Musk’s comments about India’s efficient electoral system came a day after the vote counting for Maharashtra and Jharkhand state assembly elections was completed on Saturday and declared the results.
The post from the richest billionaire comes as California continues to count ballots in the November 5 US Presidential Election of 2024. The Secretary of State's office cited that an estimated 570,500 ballots statewide were still pending to count.
Assembly Elections in India:
Maharashtra saw 132 seats won by the BJP. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Ajit Pawar, gained 41 seats, the Shiv Sena won 57 seats, Congress was only able to secure 16 seats, and Sharad Pawar's NCP secured 10 seats. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), led by Hemant Soren, won 33 seats, followed by the BJP with 21 seats, the Congress with 16, and the RJD with 4 seats.
