A New York Court, on Thursday, indicted, among others, Sagar Adani, the nephew of billionaire Gautam Adani, in an alleged case of 'fraud and bribery'. And while Adani Group has refuted the allegations levelled by the US authorities as 'baseless', Sagar Adani's name has generated curiosity.

Who is Sagar Adani?

Sagar Adani, the Executive Director of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) is the son of Rajesh Adani, the brother of Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani.  Sagar currently handles strategic and financial matters for Adani Green Energy and plays an important role in the organisation’s building efforts, making him a pivotal figure in the company’s growth. He joined the Adani Group in 2015. He started his career in the Projects division, where he played a key role in building Adani Green Energy's solar and wind portfolios.

Sagar Adani graduated with a degree in Economics from Brown University, USA. According to the official website of the Adani Group, Sagar Adani currently handles strategic and financial matters for Adani Green Energy Limited.

He joined the Adani Group in 2015. He started his career in the Projects division, where he was involved in building Adani Green Energy's solar and wind portfolios. According to a report by Bloomberg,  Sagar Adani could be among potential successors to Gautam Adani's empire, the other contenders being his sons Karan and Jeet Adani and cousin Pranav Adani.
