Aadhaar Update Deadline Extended? Details

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar details. If you received your 12-digit Aadhaar number 10 years ago and haven’t updated your information since, you must update your documents by December 14, 2024.


How to Update Aadhaar Details


You can update your Aadhaar by submitting proof of identity and proof of address. This can be done online through the myAadhaar portal or offline by visiting a nearby Aadhaar centre.


Free Online Update Service


UIDAI is offering free online document uploads until December 14, 2024, exclusively through the myAadhaar portal. This free service will help millions of Aadhaar holders ensure their details are up to date. The UIDAI has encouraged everyone to take advantage of this facility to maintain accurate information in the Aadhaar database.


Importance of Keeping Aadhaar Updated


Updating Aadhaar details is important for better service delivery, smoother transactions, and accurate authentication. Keeping documents updated ensures easier access to services and benefits.
Cost of Late Updates
If you miss the December 14, 2024 deadline, there will be a fee of Rs 50 for updating Aadhaar details. It’s best to update your information for free before the deadline passes.
