Republic's India Economic Summit: Nirmala Sitharaman , India's Finance Minister, will be the chief guest at the 4th edition of the Republic Media Network's India Economic Summit on November 12, 2024. The event will take place at the Republic Media Network headquarters, the largest news center in Asia.
The theme of the summit is "Viksit Bharat: Bullseye," and it will explore India's path to becoming a $50 trillion economy by 2047.
The event will see Sitharaman leading a discussion on the government's Viksit Bharat Vision, key economic reforms, and policy priorities aimed at driving India towards prosperity and self-sufficiency.
Leading policymakers, business leaders, and industry experts will discuss the future of India's economy at the summit.
Vision For India's Economic Future
The summit will open with a keynote address by BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, who will outline India's potential for exponential growth over the next few decades. His address will focus on key areas like policy reforms, innovation, and investment, which are critical for reaching the $50 trillion target by 2047. Mohandas Pai, Chairman of Aarin Capital, will emphasize the role of entrepreneurship and the private sector in driving India's economic growth.
Industry Leaders To Share Insights
Several influential figures from Indian corporates, including Baba Ramdev, Founder of Patanjali Ayurved, will highlight the importance of indigenous industries.
The Billionaire Mindset panel will feature Rashesh Shah, Chairman of Edelweiss, and Sundeep Sikka, CEO of Nippon Mutual Fund, who will discuss India's evolving financial landscape and investment strategies. They will collectively explore how retail investment and financial literacy are driving wealth creation in India.
Digital Transformation and Innovation
Digital revolution will be a key focus at the summit. Sanjeev Bikhchandani of InfoEdge and Sarbvir Singh, CEO of PolicyBazaar, will describe how India has lately become a "digital goldmine" with a billion connected users.
The automotive sector will also take center stage, with Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India; Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India; and Rajeev Chaba, CEO Emeritus of JSW MG Motor India, discussing India's potential as a global manufacturing hub.
Global Competitiveness Roadmap
The summit will also discuss India's role in global trade and geopolitics. Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, will outline the government's plans to improve trade infrastructure and streamline the movement of goods. Chandrajit Banerjee of CII and Subhrakant Panda of FICCI will discuss strategies to harness India's industrial capacity and workforce, enabling the country to become a competitive player in the global market.
