Unicommerce records 16% growth in client order volume during mid-year online sales

Getting ready for IPO: SaaS platform Unicommerce, which is gearing up for an IPO, has reported a 16 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in client order volumes during the mid-year online sales, as per a company announcement on Monday. The sales period ranging from July 19- 25, 2024, also saw a 19 per cent rise in gross merchandise value compared to the same period in 2023.

The company's analysis highlighted that consumers got benefitted from the mid-year sales offers from various marketplaces, resulting in the observed growth in order volumes. This year's sales were compared to the previous year's event, which took place from July 14-20, 2023.

Unicommerce offers a comprehensive suite of SaaS products for managing e-commerce operations. The services of the company sees it catering to direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, brand aggregators, traditionally offline brands, marketplaces, logistics players, and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). 

The prominent clients include Zivame, Fabindia, TCNS (W, Aurelia), Pharmeasy, WoW Skin Science, BoAT Lifestyle, Portronics, Emami, Cello, GNC, and GOAT Brand Labs.

Healthy growth 

During the sale period in 2024, there was a notable 78 per cent  year-on-year growth in the health and pharma segment, driven by a consumer focus on healthy products and nutraceuticals. Additionally, the FMCG and agriculture, beauty, wellness, and personal care categories experienced year-on-year order volume growth of over 48 per cent and 21 per cent, respectively.

The average order value for electronics and home appliances (excluding mobile phones) increased by more than 24 per cent in 2024 compared to 2023. Trends have indicated that there is a higher consumer spending on electronic items such as RO and water purifiers, smart TV stabilisers, lunch boxes, and water kettles.

Unicommerce's insights reflect a broader trend of increasing consumer engagement and spending during mid-year online sales events.
