Tata Steel CEO urges quick action on UK decarbonisation
Tata Steel is currently closing its two blast furnaces in Britain, a move that will result in up to 2,800 job losses at the Port Talbot steelworks in Wales.

Tata Steel's CEO, T. V. Narendran, stressed on the company's intent to accelerate decarbonisation efforts in the UK, amid trade union threats of strikes over planned job cuts.
"We want to move fast and build the new electric arc furnace faster, so that's why, for us, the timelines are clear," Narendran stated in an interview with Reuters.
Tata Steel is currently closing its two blast furnaces in Britain, a move that will result in up to 2,800 job losses at the Port Talbot steelworks in Wales. In response, British trade unions have voted for strike action to protest these job cuts, although no date for industrial action has been set. The unions are demanding a better deal for the workforce.
"We will deal with it when it comes to that," Narendran said regarding the potential strikes.
