JioCinema IPL 2024 viewership soars 53%, sets record with 62 crore views
This was JioCinema's second season streaming the IPL, during which the platform recorded over 35,000 crore minutes of watch-time.

JioCinema IPO viewership: Reliance-owned OTT platform JioCinema, which holds the live streaming rights for Tata IPL, experienced a 53 per cent increase in viewership, reaching 2,600 crore views during the T20 cricket tournament that concluded on May 26.
This was JioCinema's second season streaming the IPL, during which the platform recorded over 35,000 crore minutes of watch-time, according to a statement from the OTT platform. The average time spent per viewer rose to 75 minutes, up from over 60 minutes in the previous season of Tata IPL 2023.
"Following an incredible opening night, JioCinema's reach grew by over 38 per cent, concluding the season with more than 62 crore views," the statement read. This season also saw a record 28 sponsors and over 1,400 advertisers on JioCinema.
"We conclude the TATA IPL 2024 with a promise to continue to redefine the way sports is consumed in India," said a Viacom18 spokesperson. "The growth we are seeing year-on-year assures us that our viewer-centric presentation is engaging and appreciated."
JioCinema kicked off the 2024 season with over 11.3 crore viewers on the first day, marking a 51 per cent increase from Day 1 of TATA IPL 2023. The platform registered over 59 crore video views on the opening day, leading to 660 crore minutes of watch-time.
Reliance-backed Viacom18 acquired the digital rights for IPL for Rs 20,500 crore in June 2022. Following the IPL, JioCinema plans to focus on the next major sports event, the 2024 Paris Olympics.
