Top three SUVs record highest sales in July 2024

SUV sales in July: The SUV segment in India has seen an upsurge in consumer demand and has been a major segment for auto manufacturers in driving their sales. In July, SUVs drove the sales for India’s leading auto manufacturers Maruti Suzuki, and Hyundai.

The full-size segment of SUVs offers off-road capabilities and has a great road presence. As per the data released by the SIAM, the SUV segment recorded the Toyota Fortuner secured first place in retail sales, followed by its competitors. This segment of SUVs is mostly offered with diesel engines and offers great features, comfortable seating, and a plush cabin experience. Let us have a look at the top three SUVs that recorded the highest sales in July 2024.
 

Toyota Fortuner:

The Toyota Fortuner has secured the first position on the list. Fortuner is offered in petrol and diesel engines, has always been in demand, and has evolved as a status symbol. Toyota Fortuner recorded total retail sales of 2,380 units in July 2024. Fortuner in July registered a degrowth of 23.94 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Fortuner even recorded a decline of 11.03 per cent on a month-on-month basis but still secured first place. The price of the Toyota Fortuner starts at Rs 33.43 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 2.7 4x2 petrol engine variant. 

Skoda Kodiaq:

Skoda Kodiaq has secured the second position on the list, surpassing the MG Gloster in retail sales. The Skoda Kodiaq shares its underpinnings with the VW’s Tiguan. Skoda Kodiaq registered total retail sales of a mere 240 units, registering 50.94 per cent growth on a year-on-year basis and 75.18 per cent growth on a month-on-month basis in July 2024. The price of the Skoda Kodiaq starts at Rs 38.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Style variant.

MG Gloster:

The MG Gloster managed to reserve the third place on the list and trailed behind the Skoda Kodiaq. MG Gloster is the largest in dimensions and offers a slew of safety features, a powerful diesel engine, and great comfort. Gloster recorded total retail sales of 191 units in July. This has led to a decline of 23.90 per cent on a year-on-year basis, but on the contrary, the Gloster recorded a growth of 44.70 per cent on a month-on-month basis. The price of the MG Gloster starts at Rs 38.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Sharp single Turbo 4X2 variant.
