New Delhi: BMW India on Friday said it will increase prices of its entire model range by up to 3% from January next year.
The company said that the new prices will be effective starting from January 1, 2025.
What Are The Cars That BMW Is Currently Selling In India?
The German automaker's range of locally produced cars includes the 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series Long Wheelbase, 5 Series Long Wheelbase, 7 Series Long Wheelbase, X1, X3, X5, X7 and M340i.
BMW is currently selling models like i4, i5, i7, i7 M70, iX1, BMW iX, Z4 M40i, M2 Coupe among others as Completely Built-up Units (CBU).
Why The Sudden Price Hike?
Mercedes Benz had announced last week that the company will hike prices of its Indian vehicles by up to 3% on its entire model range from its January portfolio, attributing a rise in input costs, inflationary pressures and higher operational expenses.
Mercedes Benz cars in India will be more costly by Rs 2 lakh for the GLC to Rs 9 lakh for the top-end Mercedes-Maybach S 680 luxury limousine, according to a report.
What Does BMW Say About The Price Hike?
“BMW India's strategic price adjustment across the model range is a response to shifting market conditions, inflation, and increasing input costs. This thoughtful decision allows us to ensure operating profitability and continuously deliver the BMW standards of excellence in terms of quality, performance, and brand experience,” a BMW spokesperson said.
Recently, the luxury carmaker has also launched the BMW M5, seventh generation in India.
