Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: Motorola has launched the Edge 50 Ultra in India, offering some major upgrades in the camera, charging speed, and system-on-chip (SoC) compared to its predecessor, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. This new flagship model aims to improve user experience with advanced features, including Moto AI.
Design and display
Although the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra shares a similar design with the Edge 50 Pro, it boasts distinct specifications. Both devices feature comparable display specifications, but the Edge 50 Ultra stands out with its higher peak brightness. It sports a 6.7-inch pOLED panel supporting a 144Hz refresh rate and offers an impressive peak brightness of 2,500 nits, ensuring vibrant and clear visuals.
Performance upgrades
Another major upgrade in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is the inclusion of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, an improvement over the Edge 50 Pro’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. The upgrade promises faster and more efficient performance, catering to demanding applications and multitasking needs. The device is equipped with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps, media, and other data.
Camera Enhancements
The camera department sees considerable improvements in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. It features a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 64MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. This setup marks a noticeable upgrade from the Edge 50 Pro’s 50MP primary, 10MP telephoto, and 13MP ultrawide sensors. For selfies and video chats, the Edge 50 Ultra is equipped with a 50MP front camera.
Battery and charging
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is powered by a 4,500mAh battery supporting 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. This ensures that the device can be quickly charged, minimising downtime and keeping users connected throughout the day.
Pricing and availability
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is available in a single variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, priced at Rs 54,999. The device can be purchased from Flipkart and Motorola's official website. Customers can choose from three colour options: Peach Fuzz, Nordic Wood, and Forest Grey.
Additional features
Other features of the Edge 50 Ultra include an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust and water, allowing usage in the rain. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for better security.
The device runs on Android 14-based Hello UI and have Moto AI, designed to optimise the user experience. Motorola has promised to provide three years of OS upgrades and four years of security patches.
