Infosys hirings: Earlier this week, IT giant Infosys issued offer letters to all of its 2,000 campus recruits. Now, a new report says that while the company has issued joining letters to 2,000 recruits, around 700 campus hires are still waiting to get their joining dates.
According to a report by Money Control, the campus recruits whose joining dates are yet to be confirmed by the company were hired for various technical roles such as System Engineers (SE) and Digital Specialist Engineers (DSE). Of these 700 recruits, around 500 freshers were hired for the System Engineers roles back in 2022, while remaining 200 candidates were hired as Digital Specialist Engineers in 2023 batch. The DSE candidates were hired after they cleared the 'HackWithInfy' competition back in 2022.
For the unversed, Infosys issued offer letters to all 2,000 of its campus recruits earlier this week after a delay of nearly 2.5 years. As per reports, around 1,000 campus recruits received their joining dates on September 1, while 300 other recruits received their joining dates on September 2. Remaining 700 candidates were reportedly given their joining dates in June 2024.
These recruits were hired back for various roles within the company back in 2022. They were required to complete two pre-training sessions in 2024. The most recent pre-training session took place on August 19. These pre-training sessions include self-learning modules provided by the company and they last for around six-weeks. Completion of these modules is followed by an in-person competency assessment. Clearing this assessment is required for joining the company.
Responding to the development, president of the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate or NITES said that while Infosys has sent offer letters to some of its campus recruits, the organisation remains vigilant. "If Infosys fails to honor this commitment and breaches the joining dates, we will not hesitate to organise a protest right in the front of the Infosys office," he said in a statement.
