Google's AI people images: Alphabet's Google announced on Wednesday that it will soon reintroduce the capability to generate images of people through its Gemini AI model, following a months-long hiatus.
The feature had been paused in February due to inaccuracies in the historical images produced by the AI, which had led to user criticism. Google had taken this step to address the issues and ensure the model adhered to its product principles.
Realistic people images now available
The updated Gemini AI model, known as Imagen 3, is now designed to create more accurate and realistic images of people. However, it will not generate images of specific individuals, children, or any graphic content.
This new functionality will initially be available to paid users of the Gemini AI chatbot in English, with plans to expand to more languages and users in the future.
In addition, Google is launching new features for Gemini subscribers, including access to "Gems", customised chatbots tailored for specific tasks. This will allow users to provide specific instructions and create custom chatbots, streamlining repetitive tasks and saving time.
Other AI models capable of generating images include OpenAI's Dall-E, Microsoft's CoPilot, and xAI's Grok.
