'Historic': PM Narendra Modi's first words as Donald Trump returns as US President - See post

As Donald Trump made a thumping return to the White House registering a historic win in the US Elections 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to congratulate the President-elect. Taking to X, PM Narendra Modi expressed hope that Trump's re-election as the 47th US President would further strengthen the India-US strategic partnership.

“Heartiest congratulations my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership,” Modi said in a post on X. Donald Trump is all set to take oath as the 47th President of United States.

Earlier in the day, Donald Trump registered a historic win crossing the magic number of 270 for the Republicans. At the time of this report, Republicans had already secured a majority in the Senate and were heading for a decisive victory in the House of Representatives. Addressing a victory rally, Trump thanked his voters and reiterated his election motto- ‘Make America Great Again’.
