Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra announced on Thursday that the expansion of the cabinet of Maharashtra will take place on Saturday.
"The expansion of the cabinet in Maharashtra will take place on December 14," Ajit Pawar said while talking to reporters after meeting Amit Shah, Union Home Minister.
Pawar added that the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) had been increased four times but the MSP was not increased and he had requested the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to increase the MSP of sugarcane.
The meeting that Ajit Pawar had at Union Home Minister's place was a "courtesy call" after the results of Maharashtra Assembly elections as they had not come to Delhi.
The Deputy Chief Minister also had additional discussions with Amit Shah, Union Home Minister on sugarcane, cotton and soybean farmers.
While there has been some speculation over the Maharashtra cabinet and its formation, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the formula for cabinet expansion is already decided and people will get to know soon.
