Maha Kumbh 2025 is set to be the biggest spiritual event of the new year, so far. It is going to bring together the sacred traditions of Sanatan Dharma with state-of the art digital advancements, according to an official statement.

The festival shall display comprehensive preparations across infrastructure, safety, and digital services.
Drone Show At Maha Kumbh
A fleet of 2,000 drones will reportedly narrate trhe tales of "Prayag Mahatmyam" and "Samudra Manthan," creating a spectacle over the Sangam Nose, the state government said in an official statement.
The show will also depict the emergence of Amrit Kalash (nectar pot), creating a visual narrative in the evening skies.
Cyber Security At Maha Kumbh
Special arrangements have been made for safeguarding devotees that come to attend the festival. As many as 56 dedicated cyber warriors and experts have been deployed for cyber patrolling. Additionally, a Maha Kumbh cyber police station has been established to counter cyber threats like fraudulent websites, social media scams, fake links, etc.
Further, 40 Variable Messaging Displays (VMDs) will be installed in the fair area as well as Commissionerate to raise awareness and a dedicated helpline number, 1920 has also been established.
The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has identified 50 suspicious websites and action has been taken against them.
Virtual Reality Stalls
Additionally, ten stalls facilitating pilgrims with a virtual reality experience are also set up at prime locations in the Kumbh Mela area. These stalls will show videos of major events such as Peshwai (Grand procession of Akhadas), auspicious bathing days (snaan), ganga aarti, and multiple special footages from the festival.
Infrastructure And Land Digitalisation
GIS-based maps with essential public utilities are available on Google Maps for seamless anvigation through the fair area. These also include emergency services, police stations, checkpoints, command and control centres, hospitals, parking areas, food courts, vending zones, toilets, pontoon bridges, roads, etc.
Pilgrims shall now be able to avoid unnecessary queues.
Other Digital Facilities
Other digital facilities include remote-controlled life buoys, underwater drones, and artificial intelligence powered cameras.
Additionally, for the first time high-tech lost and found registration centres are being established in association with the state police department.
Furthermore, pilgrims can book their stay online at maha Kumbh Gram which will be open from January 10 to February 28. Reservations can be made easily through the IRCTC website, with additional information available on both the IRCTC and Tourism Department websites and the Maha Kumbh mobile application.
Bookings can also be made through IRCTC's business partners Make My Trip and Go IBIBO.
