Five Indian Army Jawans were killed in an accident as an army vehicle plunged into a gorge.

The incident took place in the village of Banoi in Poonch.
"All ranks of #WhiteKnightCorps extend their deepest condolences on the tragic loss of five brave soldiers in a vehicle accident during operational duty in the #Poonch sector," White Knight Corps, which is a corps of the Indian Army with headquarters in Nagrota Cantonment, Jammu and Kashmir, wrote in a post on X.
"Rescue operations are ongoing, and the injured personnel are receiving medical care," the post added.
According to a PTI report, the accident occurred in the Gharoa area when an army vehicle fell into a gorge that was approximately 300-350 feet deep. The incident occurred as the truck was on its way to Banoi from Gharoa.
Officials said that a rescue operation is underway.
Additionally, five other soldiers were injured.
