Who Is Lex Fridman?

Lex Fridman was born on 15 August 1983 in Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic, and grew up in Moscow. He is an American computer scientist and podcaster. He has hosted the Lex Fridman Podcast since 2018 and has since interviewed notable figures from various fields like science, technology, sports, and politics, including Elon Musk, Sean Carroll, and Joe Rogan, among others.

He attended Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois, and then went on to obtain B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science at Drexel University in 2010. He completed his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering at Drexel in 2014.

In 2019, Fridman published a non-peer-reviewed study about Tesla Autopilot which caught the attention of Elon Musk. Fridman rose to fame after Musk praised his study. As of 2023, he is a research scientist at the MIT Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems.

Lex Fridman started his podcast in 2018, by the name, The Artificial Intelligence Podcast, but later rebranded it to The Lex Fridman Podcast in 2020.
