Adani Energy Solutions Bags Rs 25,000-Cr Bhadla-Fatehpur Transmission Project
AESL is the only private company in India owning HVDC assets, with two previous projects: the Mundra-Mahendragarh Project and the ongoing Aarey-Kudus Project.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) announced winning the Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC Project, valued at Rs 25,000 crore—the largest transmission order ever for the company.
With this win, AESL’s order book has grown to Rs 54,761 crore. The project will transfer 6 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan to northern demand centers.
“It has won the prestigious ~Rs 25,000 crore Bhadla (Rajasthan)- Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh) HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) order. It is AESL’s largest order win till date, taking its under execution order book to Rs 54,761 crore and transmission network to 25,778 km and 84,186 MVA transformation capacity” as per exchange filing.
Project Details
The project includes a 6,000-MW HVDC system covering 2,400 km and 7,500 MVA transmission capacity. It aims to be completed in 4.5 years, utilizing the latest technology to minimize environmental impact.
“AESL won the project under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mechanism and REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) was the bid process coordinator. The project SPV got formally transferred to AESL on January 20, 2025” the filing declared.
Strategic Importance
The project will facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) to the national grid, supporting India’s decarbonization goals.
“By enabling efficient evacuation of renewable energy from some of the most inhospitable regions of the country and connecting them to the national grid, AESL is playing its role in India’s decarbonization journey. We will be deploying latest technology and practices to deliver the project in time and with minimal environmental impact,” said Kandarp Patel, CEO, AESL.
