Air India has launched eZ Booking, an AI-powered feature designed to streamline ticket reservations on its website. Customers can now book flights by simply texting or talking to the AI agent about their travel plans. This innovation eliminates multiple steps and screens, offering a faster and more intuitive experience.

Powered by Agentic AI, eZ Booking mimics the role of a travel agent, using machine learning, natural language processing, and automation to create tailored itineraries with minimal human intervention.

How eZ Booking Works

• Natural Language Input: Customers can express their travel plans in simple language, such as ‘First flight from Delhi to Mumbai tomorrow,’ or ‘Chennai from Mumbai next Thursday, return Friday.’
• Voice Interaction: Guests can use voice commands instead of typing, creating an almost human-like interaction.
• Quick Changes: If the suggested itinerary doesn’t meet the customer’s needs, modifications can be made quickly using text or voice inputs, avoiding back-and-forth navigation.

Building on AI Expertise

This feature builds on Air India’s earlier AI initiatives, including its chatbot AI.g, launched in May 2023. AI.g has autonomously handled 97% of over 7 million guest queries, demonstrating Air India’s leadership in AI-driven customer service.

The patent-pending design of eZ Booking recently won the Red Dot Design Concepts Award and is showcased at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore, highlighting its innovative approach.

Air India: Future Plans

This AI agent facility, eZ Booking is currently accessible on the Maharaja Club website. Air India plans to roll it out on its mobile website and app soon, further expanding its reach and usability.
