Ola Electric launched its electric motorcycle, Roadster in three versions in India. The introductory price of the Ola Electric Roadster starts at Rs 74,999.

Ola Roadster motorcycle: India’s leading electric mobility giant Ola Electric has launched its first series of electric motorcycles in India. Ola Electric has launched its Roadster electric motorcycle at an introductory price of Rs 74,999 (ex-showroom). Ola Electic has launched the Roadster, Roadster X, and Roadster Pro, and the deliveries for Roadster and Roadster X will commence in January 2025. Ola Electric also showcased its future bike roadmap, revealing two new concepts, Sportster and Arrowhead.
Speaking at the event, Mr Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder, and CMD, of Ola Electric, said, “Today, 2/3rd of India’s 2W market consists of motorcycles, and with Ola’s entry into this segment, EV penetration is poised to further accelerate in the Indian 2W segment.”

Price and variants:
Ola Electric has launched the entry-level Roadster X at an introductory price of Rs 74,999 (ex-showroom). The Roadster is available with three battery packs. The Roadster is launched at Rs 1.04 Lakh (ex-showroom) and also comes equipped with three battery packs. The flagship Roadster Pro is launched at Rs 1.99 lakh and will have two battery packs on offer.

Design:
The design of the Roadster electric motorcycle by Ola is futuristic and has sharp cuts and creases. The Roadster series is equipped with LED headlights and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Roadster from Ola Electric has a naked sports bike design language and consists chain drive mechanism.

The Roadster offers a simplistic and sharp design. It has regular telescopic forks and a single-disc brake in the front. The design of the Roadster X is a bit more sportier and the headlight cover has a different element. The wheels of the Roadster X are better designed as compared to the Roadster. The design of the Roadster Pro is oriented towards performance and is aerodynamically designed. It will offer a USD fork at the front and a mono-shock suspension at the rear. The double-disc brake at the front enhances the braking.

Features:
The feature list on the Roadster, Roadster X, and the Roadster Pro differs a bit. The Roadster Pro from Ola Electric is the most equipped and offers a 10-inch TFT touchscreen, USD (upside down) forks, and two-channel switchable ABS with disc brakes at the front and the rear. The Ola Electric’s Roadster Pro has four riding modes (Hyper, Sport, Normal, and Eco) and two DIY modes.
The Roadster X series consists of features Sports, Normal, and Eco riding modes. The Roadster X has a 4.3-inch LCD segment display powered by MoveOS 5. The Roadster X even offers a wide range of digital tech features such as Ola Maps Navigation (Turn by Turn), advanced regen, cruise control, Riding Modes, DIY Mode, TPMS alerts, and OTA updates. The Roadster X comes with Digital Key Unlock and Ola Electric App connectivity as well.
The Roadster offers four riding modes - Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco. The Roadster is powered by MoveOS 5, a 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen, and comes loaded with smart features such as proximity unlock, cruise control, party mode, and tamper alert, along with AI-powered features such as Krutrim Assistant, smartwatch app, road trip planner. The Roadster Pro offers digital tech features including ADAS, three-level traction control, integrated ride modes (Race, Urban, Rain & Off-road), and access controls (geofencing, time fencing, mode-fencing) among many other features. The Roadster Pro will also have advanced race-track features such as Race Mode, Anti-Wheely, and Stoppie modes with MoveOS 6.
Performance and range:
Since Ola Electric manufactures its battery cells at its factory, the Roadster electric motorcycle features great performance along with optimal range for daily commutes.
The Roadster X is offered with 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh battery packs. The 0-40 km/h claimed time of the 4.5 kWh Roadster X variant is 2.8 seconds. The Roadster X has a top speed of 124 km/h and offers a range of 200 km for the 4.5 kWh battery pack.
The Roadster is offered with 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh, and 6 kWh battery packs. The 0-40 km/h time for the Roadster electric motorcycle with the 6 kWh battery pack is 2 seconds and has a top speed of 126 km/h. The Roadster offers a range of 248 km on a single charge for the 6 kWh battery pack.
The flagship Roadster Pro is offered with 8 kWh and 16 kWh battery packs. The motor performance of the Roadster Pro is 70 BHP and 105 Nm torque. The 0-40 km/h time for the 16 kWh battery pack is 1.2 seconds and the 0-60 km/h time of 1.9 seconds. It has a top speed of 194 km/h and has a certified range of 579 km.
