TVS Jupiter 110 launch: The new Jupiter 110 has arrived as the replacement for TVS Motor Company’s best-selling economy scooter that was launched more than a decade ago. The company claims the new version will offer a 10 per cent increase in mileage compared to the old version, thanks to the new IGO Assist technology, which allows the petrol engine to generate a peak torque of 9.8Nm at 5,000 rpm. TVS said the Jupiter 110 “has been the anchor” of its scooter portfolio for about 10 years, outlining that the upcoming version is expected to drive sales and rival other 110cc scooters such as Honda Activa.
TVS Jupiter 110 price in India
The ex-showroom (Delhi) price of TVS’s new scooter is Rs 73,700. You can buy the Jupiter 110 in Drum, Drum Alloy, Drum SXC, and Dis variants, while the colourways include Dawn Blue Matte, Galactic Copper Matte, and Straight Blue Gloss Meteor Red Gloss, Titanium Grey Matte, and Lunar White Gloss
What’s different
The new Jupiter 110 uses a 113.3cc single cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke petrol engine, capable of generating a maximum power of 7.9bhp at 6500rpm. Its peak torque can be 9.8Nm at 5,000rpm with the company’s new iGO Assist micro-hybrid technology that uses an intelligent start/stop technology and an integrated starter generator. The company claims a 10 per cent boost in mileage when this mode is turned on, but it is 9.2Nm at 5,000rpm without Assist. It is based on a new platform boasting a new-generation engine called J110.
Jupiter 110cc has a new design where the headlights have become sleeker, and the LED DRLs now include seamless LED turn indicators. The front apron has a hint of gloss black plastics, but it covers a small area of the fascia. The scooter’s sides have stylish creases, which add to the modernistic approach. The seamless LEDs are also present on the taillights. The seat has dual-tone stitching, but available only on top models. Elements such as alloy wheels, front disc brake, and a fully digital instrument cluster are also exclusive to the top models.
