Markets stage strong recovery, Sensex, Nifty surges 0.9% led by banks, metal stocks

As the trading session came to an end, only 11 of the top 50 stocks at NSE were trading in red led by Adani Ports.

Stock market today: After continuing decline in early tring hours of Tuesday, domestic bourses have taken a sharp turn, registering a bumper recovery led by strong gains in banking, financials, and metal stocks. 

BSE’s 30-share Sensitive Index surged as much as 694 points or nearly 0.88 per cent while on or hand, National Stock Exchange’s Nifty 50 has ended 218 points or 0.91 per cent higher, breaking past crucial level of 24,200.

JSW Steel ended 4.8 per cent up, Tata Steel gained 3.63 per cent, and Bajaj Auto surged over 3.5 per cent to become top gainers for day on NSE . Or top gainers of day included Hindalco, Axis Bank , IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank , and State Bank of India. 

As tring session came to an end, only 11 of top 50 stocks at NSE were tring in red led by ani Ports which shredded off as much as 1.61 per cent in today’s tre to become worst performer of day. ITC, Asian Paints , Trent, and Bharti Airtel were among or top losers in today’s session.

In terms of sectoral performance, FMCG, media, IT, and healthcare were some of key indices which ended in red while Nifty Bank, Auto, financial services, metal, PSU banks, and Oil & Gas were or key stocks which gained substantially in today’s tring session.

All broer market indices also ended in green on Tuesday with benchmark index surging 0.9 per cent whereas broer Nifty 100 surged 0.82 per cent. midcap index also gained 0.58 per cent whereas Smallcap index surged 0.51 per cent.
