Zomato, India's leading food delivery platform, recorded a staggering number of order deliveries, with the delivery partners receiving tips worth over Rs 97 lakhs. CEO Deepinder Goyal shared the exciting news on social media, expressing gratitude to the generous patrons and the dedicated delivery partners who worked tirelessly to make the celebrations special.

In a tweet, Goyal said, "Love you, India! You have tipped over Rs 97 lakhs till now to the delivery partners serving you tonight." This remarkable gesture showcases the appreciation and generosity of Zomato users toward the hardworking delivery partners who ensured a seamless dining experience for customers celebrating the New Year.

Leading up to the festive night, Goyal provided a sneak peek into Zomato's preparation with a glimpse into the "war room" at the company headquarters. The images depicted a bustling team of executives, fueled by cans of Coke and sustenance, as they geared up to handle the anticipated surge in orders on one of the busiest days for the hospitality industry.

With cans of Coke and a spread of food on common tables, the Zomato team in the war room appeared focused and ready to tackle the increased demand on December 31. Goyal shared these images on social media with the caption, "Ready to get (India’s) party started."

The CEO also revealed an interesting fun fact, stating, "Fun fact: We’ve delivered almost as many orders on NYE 23 as we did on NYE 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 combined. Excited about the future!" This underscores the incredible growth and impact Zomato has experienced, showcasing the platform's ability to meet customer demands and set new records.

As the clock struck midnight, Goyal shared more insights, mentioning that 3.2 lakh+ delivery partners across Zomato and LetsBlinkit were actively serving India on New Year's Eve. A staggering 8,422 orders were placed at 8:06 p.m., translating to 140 orders every second. Goyal's tweet humorously remarked about a Kolkata party where someone ordered 125 items in a single order, reflecting the diversity and enthusiasm of Zomato users.
