CNG cars under budget: The CNG segment has seen an upsurge in demand from consumers in India. Since the emission norms became stringent, the auto manufacturers started giving a more cleaner and efficient source of fuel to the audience. The CNG compliances and vehicles have evolved over a while. Now major auto manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Tata Motors offer CNG in their lineup, but one can also get it equipped from the open market. Tata Motors was the first manufacturer that introduce dual-cylinder CNG technology, offering more boot space in their vehicles. Let us have a quick look at the top three cars to consider under Rs 8 lakh with CNG option:
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG has been a popular car in the segment. The updated Wagon R offers decent space, comes equipped with features, and offers a highly fuel-efficient engine. The Wagon R is offered with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 56 BHP and 82 Nm torque in the CNG mode. The Wagon R CNG is offered in two variants. The price of the Wagon R CNG starts at Rs 6.44 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base LXI (O) variant.
Hyundai Grand I10 Nios CNG
The next car on the list in this budget is the Hyundai Grand I10 Nios CNG. The Grand I10 Nios has recently received an update wherein it is now equipped with dual-cylinder technology. The Grand I10 Nios is equipped with a 1.2-litre inline four-cylinder engine, producing 70 BHP and 95 Nm torque, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The feature list on the Grand I10 Nios is great and has four variants on offer for CNG trim, including a single-cylinder CNG variant as well. The price of the Hyundai Grand I10 Nios CNG starts at Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Magna variant.
Tata Tiago CNG:
The Tata Tiago CNG is a popular choice among consumers, who are looking for a strong car and Tigao has scored four stars in the Global NCAP. Tiago CNG is offered with dual-cylinder technology as well and it is the only hatchback in the segment that offers an AMT transmission in the CNG variant. The Tiago is offered with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, that churns out 73 BHP and 95 Nm torque from the CNG mode. The engine vibrations are quite evident from the Tiago, but overall it is a decent car in the segment. The Tiago CNG is offered in seven variants, and the price starts at Rs 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base XE variant.
