NPCI announces increased limit, auto recharge facility for UPI Lite
According to the National Payments Corporation of India, users of UPI Lite can now store up to Rs 5,000, an increase from the previous Rs 2,000 limit.

UPI Lite users can w make higher-value payments and set up an automatic top-up feature starting vember 1. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced an increased wallet limit and an automatic recharge option for UPI Lite service, designed to streamline low-value digital payments through supported apps like GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, and BHIM. NPCI also anunced that it recorded 16.58 billion UPI transactions worth Rs 23.5 trillion in October, registering a 10 per cent growth in volume and a 14 per cent rise in value compared to September.
Upgraded Wallet Limit
Users of UPI Lite wallet can w store up to Rs 5,000, an increase from previous limit of Rs 2,000. All apps that support UPI Lite can w be recharged up to this new limit. However, daily transaction limit remains Rs 4,000. Additionally, NPCI has raised limit for PIN-less transactions from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000, which means users can pay up to Rs 1,000 without needing to enter PIN each time.

New Auto Top-Up Facility
Users can w configure ir UPI Lite wallets to automatically recharge when balance falls below a specified threshold. This function works similarly to automatic top-up features found in or digital wallets. Users can choose ir preferred top-up amount, but it cant exceed Rs 5,000. re is also a limit of five automatic top-ups per day; for any additional refills, users must recharge manually.
