Under the new pricing structure for Ola Maps, the company is introducing a free tier for all its mapping and location-based APIs, allowing up to 5 million API calls per month at no cost. This announcement follows a day after tech giant Google revealed it would reduce rates on the Google Maps platform for developers in India by up to 70 per cent, effective August 1, 2024. Additionally, Google will begin accepting payments in Indian Rupees (INR), having previously charged India-based customers in US dollars.

Additionally, Ola Maps will provide three years of free access to all startups and small businesses building on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform, according to Aggarwal.
