TCS expands operations in Poland, to double workforce to over 1,200 employees

TCS expansion: Tata Consultancy Services ( TCS ) on Friday opened a delivery centre in Warsaw, Poland as part of its regional expansion plans, looking to double its workforce to over 1,200 within the next year.

The new delivery centre will be established to showcase TCS capabilities across the lines of industry and technology. Tapping into this skill pool within the Polish Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector will thus strengthen its ability to provide hyperconnected services to clients worldwide, it said.

Indian Ambassador to Poland Nagma Mallick, TCS 's head of Europe Sapthagiri Chapalapalli and Prabal Datta, General Manager for TCS in Eastern Europe, were among the attendees of the inauguration. The Indian Ambassador said, "This event marks a new chapter in the expansion of India's IT prowess in Poland and further strengthens the economic ties between our two nations."

TCS had a presence in Poland since 2006, and the new centre would feed into the delivery network of the company in Europe, which would allow the company to deliver hassle-free service to customers in Europe. TCS shares on Thursday were trading at Rs 4,238.05 at the BSE and had declined 1.37 percent from the previous close.
