Reliance AGM 2024: Jio AirFiber adds one million users in first six months, says Mukesh Ambani
Speaking at Reliance Industries' AGM 2024, Mukesh Ambani announced that Jio AirFiber added one million subscribers in first six months of its launch.
Reliance AGM 2024: Reliance Industries hosted its 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in India today. At the AGM, Reliance Industries Chairman shared details pertaining to the adoption of JioAirFiber service across the country. Speaking at the event, Ambani said that Jio AirFiber home broadband service acquired its first one million subscribers in just six months of its launch.
"In just over six months, Jio AirFiber acquired its first one million Air Fiber customers. This milestone is remarkable and the fastest of its kind globally," Mukesh Ambani said during the AGM.
Apart from sharing the major milestone, he also shared the ambitious targets that the company has set for the fledgling home broadband service. While sharing the details, Ambani said that Jio AirFiber aims to acquire the next one million AirFiber customers in just 100 days.
“But that was only the beginning. By leveraging our deep-tech capabilities and continuously optimising every process, we acquired the next 1 million Air Fibre customers in just 100 days,” Ambani said.
“We are now challenging ourselves to add a million homes every 30 days. With this momentum, we are confident of reaching our target of 100 million home broadband customers at record speed,” he added.
Apart from homes, Jio is also targeting over 20 million small and medium businesses, 1.5 million educational institutions among others, over 70,000 hospitals, and 1.2 million doctors. “These institutions are our nation’s backbone, and by connecting them, we are building a stronger, more resilient India,” the Reliance Industries Chairman said at the event.
In addition to talking about the Jio AirFiber, Ambani also mentioned some of Jio's key milestones. Ambani said that in last eight years, Jio has grown to become the world’s largest mobile data company. He also said that Jio is one of the largest digital home services providers globally with over 30 million home customers.
“Today, Jio’s network carries nearly 8% of global mobile traffic, surpassing even major global operators, including those in developed markets,” he said.
