Galaxy of gadgets: Samsung is set to launch its flagship smartphone Galaxy s24 series in its upcoming Unpacked event on January 17. This timing places the event just a week after the conclusion of the Consumer Electronics Show 2024 (CES), hinting at an imminent debut of the much-anticipated Galaxy S24 series. As is customary with Samsung, leaks and speculations surrounding the Galaxy S24 lineup have circulated for several months.

Preliminary renders suggest that the new Galaxy series may have some minimal design deviations from the previous generation. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are expected to feature 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively, while the top-tier S24 Ultra may boast a 6.8-inch screen.
Camera configurations of the new devices may also vary across models, with the Ultra model expected to have a 200-megapixel sensor and retain signature features from the Galaxy Note line, such as square edges and S Pen functionality. Additionally, reports indicate the Ultra variant might introduce a titanium variant, akin to its premium competitors.

Despite rumours suggesting the integration of Qualcomm's advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, leaked pricing details for the European market hint at competitive pricing, potentially expanding its appeal to a broader consumer base.
The forthcoming Unpacked event is set in the South Bay and commences at 10 am PT, with live streaming options available. Samsung has incentivised early adopters by offering a $50 ‘reserve credit’ for preorders placed until January 16.
