IRCTC Down: Users Unable To Login, Book Tickets - Details Here On Major Outage

IRCTC Down: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website has been experiencing a major outage since December 26 morning, leaving thousands of passengers unable to access its e-ticketing services.  

Visitors to the website are met with a message stating: “DUE TO MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY, E-TICKETING SERVICE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. PLEASE TRY LATER. FOR CANCELLATION/FILE TDR, PLEASE CALL AT CUSTOMER CARE NO. 14646,08044647999 & 08035734999 OR MAIL AT etickets@irctc.co.in.”  

Thousands Report IRCTC Outage

Downdetector reported the outage beginning at approximately 9.47 am, with thousands of users flagging issues. As of 10:15, over two thousand people reported an outage on the IRCTC website. While the IRCTC website attributes the downtime to maintenance activity, there is no official word on when the services will be restored.  

This marks the second outage this month, following a similar disruption on December 9, when both the website and app became inaccessible around 10 am. Today’s incident also coincides with the crucial Tatkal ticket booking period, prompting a wave of frustration among passengers.  

Users Express Frustration On Social Media

Many took to social media to voice their grievances, lamenting the inability to secure tickets. As passengers await resolution, questions about the reliability of the platform during peak demand periods remain unresolved.
